Does This Confound You?
This ad for a subscription ran in our local paper and is apparently causing a bit of controversy. The ad is supposed to make it known that by subscribing to the paper, you’ll be saving 50% over buying it at the news stand. It’s clear to me, but some people are under the impression that the ad is offering 50% off the price of a new subscription.
So, is this:
A poorly written ad?
A poorly designed ad?
Being read by stupid people?
I changed the paper’s name and blacked out some other info like phone numbers and web addresses, but that’s the only editing I’ve done.
