I didn’t know these two sites existed so I thought I’d pass them along to you. There are quite a few opportunities for creative writers, copywriters and journalists. Most seem to be ‘regular’ jobs, but it’s always worth it to pitch your freelance services to companies that use writers for those times when they simply have to outsource a project.

Manta - While not really a job site, you can search for design firms, marketing agencies, PR firms and other businesses that typically use writers. You can even narrow your search by state.

I already e-mailed several companies I found on Manta and got a few nibbles back.

If we are truly heading into a recession, you can bet that a lot of companies are going to be looking to outsource work rather than hire on new staff.
