The Big Announcement Redux
Yes it’s late, but I can finally put it out there.
I’m going to be blogging twice a week over at phononline.com. Phon Online is a video sharing site started by author and entrepreneur Stephon Rudd. The site is operational now, but won’t officially launch until September 1st., when it’ll have a new design. (Just a side note: A good drinking game is to watch Return of the Jedi and take a shot every time they use the word operational in the dialouge. Believe me, you’ll get your drunk on right quick.)
Even without advertising, the site is currently getting quite a bit of traffic, so there’s tremendous potential for growth. You can check out the press release here.
I’ve been given free reign over what I’m going to write about, which is great because I do love being in control, but it’s also terrifying, because having to come up with original material that people actually enjoy reading is tough. So I’m going to shoot for a humor column. My dilemma right now is whether I should keep it nice and clean like Dave Barry’s work or go for a more fratire approach like Maddox or Tucker Max.
Either way, this is a great opportunity. Much like the time when the ass split out of my jeans at a Metallica concert, this exposure will be huge.
The other announcement is that I’ve set up my professional blog. I talked about writing two blogs to better showcase your talents to different audiences, and I’ve taken my own advice. This blog here will remain primarily for my writer friends while the other blog will be aimed at clients. We’ll see how it goes when it comes to landing work.
All of this, when combined with my regular client work, is making The Word Wrangler a busy guy. So, if posting here drops off a bit, fear not: I’ll be around somewhere.
